The following are common candle care tips across the board, whether or not you have soy wax candle or other types of candles:

1.) Burn in draft free area. If possible, don’t light your candle where it is breezy.

2.) Always be in sight/around your burning candle. Don’t burn a candle without being present at your location.

3.) Keep candles away from direct sunlight … sun’s heat may melt the wax along with discoloring the candle itself.

4.) Be sure to trim your candle wick to around 1/4 inch before each lighting.

5.) Should you candle incorporate any elements such as star anise, flower petals, at Mind Mana Creations, these herbs are placed strategically along the edge of the candle to minimize the flammability.

As long as objects within a candle stay in the “melt pool”, the chances of catching fire are slim.

Please also be sure to burn your candle away from other flammable materials near the candle. If you do NOT feel comfortable burning these kinds of elements, simply remove these elements if desired.

6. Do not burn your candle for more than 4-5 hours at a time … the heat from the candle may crack the glass if it gets too hot. This will also help maximize the life of your candle for each relighting.

7. Lastly, if possible, feel free to recycle your jars.

Your jars can be used to hold coins, pencils, grow plants or various other items. To clean your jar, there are several different techniques, one of the easiest is leaving the jar in a freezer for about an hour, and upon cooling, you can use a knife or other strong utensil to dig the wax bits out. Wash with warm soapy water. Be sure NOT to wash large amounts of wax into your sink drain!
